TBR: Tailored Book Recommendations is a personalized book recommendation service in the form of a quarterly subscription service that helps you find your next favorite read. It’s powered by real people because we believe that readers, not algorithms, are the key to connecting you with great books! All you have to do to get started is fill out a reader survey telling us more about your likes, dislikes, what you want more of, what your dealbreakers are, and share some of your favorite media, such as movies, TV shows, podcasts, and more. Then sit back and wait as your survey is matched real readers called Bibliologists, who then recommend three books just for you. Since launching this service over two years ago, Bibliologists have delivered more than 20,000 sets of recommendations—that’s over 60,000 books recommended!
While it’s true that book recommendations can be found in many places both online and in the real world, there’s something special about having the personal attention of a reader who will take into account your reading likes, dislikes, goals, and preferences, and offers recommendations just for you. It’s like having your own personal book concierge! If you’re curious about the service and are thinking about signing up, here’s what real readers are saying about TBR in these TBR reviews!

What readers think about the overall value:

(Note: Not all of the Bibliogists are from traditionally marginalized groups, although many identify as queer and BIPOC! Head to our About page to meet the Biblioglists. However, every round of recommendations include books by authors of color, and many include books by and about queer folks. Plus, we are always happy to fulfill requests for diverse books in many categories—just let us know what you’re looking for in your reader survey!)

Ready to take the plunge after reading these TBR reviews? Sign up for TBR: Tailored Book Recommendations today! You’ll start off by filling out our reader survey, which fills us in on your reading likes and dislikes, what you want more of, what your dealbreakers are, and allows you to link your Goodreads and/or StoryGraph account, if you have one. Your expert Bibliologist will then carefully read your responses and recommend three books just for you! Expect your emailed recommendation letter in 1-2 weeks, or get your recommendation letter and three brand-new hardcover books in 3-4 weeks! Afterwards, make sure to give feedback on both your books and overall picks and service, and remember to update your survey responses if you want changes to your recommendations! TBR aims to offer you books that you’ll love, and your Bibliologists love getting feedback so they can recommend the best books for you and your ever-evolving reading journey!
